But here’s the truth: life doesn’t work that way.
Nothing is truly certain if you really think about it. We go to bed at night assuming we’ll wake up the next morning. We drive our cars trusting we’ll arrive safely. We board buses, trains, or planes believing the driver or pilot will get us where we’re supposed to go.
Yet, no matter how much we convince ourselves of these certainties, they don’t actually exist. Still, we don’t have to let this uncertainty control us. Life isn’t meant to be lived in a constant state of anxiety.
So, what is it meant for, then?
After years of struggling with uncertainty myself, I’ve learned how to cultivate a sense of safety and security within myself. It hasn’t been an easy journey. It’s been filled with ups and downs, trial and error, and moments of profound loss and hurt. But this journey led me to what I believe is the ultimate freedom:
Feeling free within myself.
Our greatest prison is not the circumstances we face—it’s the thoughts that keep us stuck in worry, anxiety, and the belief that we must control how life unfolds.
